‘Sensing Technologies: Biosensors’ is the inaugural meeting in a new Nature (Flagship) Conference biennial series on sensing technologies. This editorially led event will bring together academic and industrial leaders, along with the next generation of researchers, to explore and shape the future of biosensing. The program covers all sensing modalities, from CRISPR-based and electrochemical to nanomaterial approaches. Sessions are organized around Materials, Devices, Systems, and Applied Biosensing, creating a platform for collaboration, discussion, and the exchange of ideas across this interdisciplinary and rapidly evolving field.

From biosensing breakthroughs to intelligent technologies with real-world impact.

Sensing technologies already shape how we monitor health, support patients, protect the environment and interact with the world around us. But access to accurate, affordable and predictive sensing is still uneven, and too many promising technologies remain trapped between the laboratory and real-world use.

The next wave of biosensing innovation will need to be faster, more accurate, lower cost, more predictive and easier to deploy. That means connecting advances in materials science, device engineering, bioelectronics, data science and systems integration with the practical needs of clinicians, patients, communities and industry.

Sensing Technologies: Biosensors will explore the full pathway from materials and devices to integrated systems and intelligent platforms that can generate useful, actionable data in real time.

Who we bring together

This flagship Nature conference is designed for the people advancing biosensing technologies from discovery to deployment, including:

Scientific committee

Meet the experts from five organising Nature Portfolio journals shaping the agenda.

Speakers

Meet the leading scientists, technology developers, and experts taking to the stage in June.

Key topics

The programme will cover the full biosensing innovation pathway — from materials and devices to intelligent systems, translation and real-world use.

Biosensing for healthcare
Explore how biosensors can support earlier detection, continuous monitoring and more personalised care. Examine how these technologies can become more accurate, more affordable, and better suited to real-world healthcare settings.
Wearable Sensors
Learn about the technologies that move with the body, from flexible and skin-interfaced devices to implantable and biointegrated systems. Highlighting the need for sensors that are comfortable, reliable, data-rich and ready for wider adoption.
Bioelectronics
Explore the technologies that can sense, interpret and interact with the body, including soft electronics, neural interfaces and implantable devices. Learn how bioelectronic systems can become safer, more scalable and more useful in healthcare and beyond.
Point-of-care sensing
Discover the portable, rapid and affordable technologies that can reduce reliance on centralised laboratory testing. Explore how sensing can become more accessible, accurate and usable across clinical, home and low-resource settings.
Call for Abstracts: Submit Now
We invite researchers, academics, and professionals from across disciplines to submit abstracts for presentation. This is a unique opportunity to share your cutting-edge research, emerging findings, or innovative ideas with an international community of peers, Nature Portfolio editors, and thought leaders. All submitted abstracts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process led by a panel of subject-matter experts and scientific editors to ensure the highest standards of quality and relevance.
